This is one of the most prestigious recruitment drives in Bihar, opening doors for candidates to join the Bihar Administrative Services, Police Services, Revenue, Finance, and other allied departments.

BPSC has increased the number of vacancies for the 71st CCE.

  • Earlier Vacancies: 1,250
  • Revised Vacancies: 1,264 (including 14 posts for DSP)

These posts are spread across different administrative departments of Bihar.

  • Educational Qualification:
    Candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university.
    (Some posts require specific subject knowledge – check detailed notification for post-wise qualification.)

The BPSC 71st CCE selection process is conducted in three stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination (Objective type, qualifying in nature)
  2. Main Examination (Descriptive, merit-based)
  3. Interview / Personality Test

Final merit will be prepared based on Mains + Interview marks only.

Prelims Exam:

  • Mode: Offline (OMR-based)
  • Total Marks: 150 marks
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Subjects: General Studies (History, Polity, Economy, Geography, Current Affairs, Bihar-specific GK)
  • Negative Marking: Yes

Mains Exam:

  • Compulsory Subjects: General Hindi, General Studies Paper I & II
  • Optional Paper: Candidate must select one subject from the given list.
